Conna Indoor Bowling News


The past few months hace been excellent and already the year 2006 has been an extraordinarily successful one for us.
In the West Cork Tournament played in Bandon Grammer School on 21st and 22nd January last the t! eam of Pat Hogan, Bridie Hamilton and Paddy O'Leary reached the final where they were defeated by Highfield.
Bowlers Michael O'Regan and Adrian Tanner who were on the Cork Zone team that defeated South Down 55/49 in the semi-final of the IIBA Inter Zone Championship at Little Island Community Sports Hall on 28th January last.
On Sunday 29th January Paddy O'Leary and Bridie Hamilton played in the final of the National Pairs where they were runners up to Highfield.
In the finals of the Carrigaline GAA Triples Tournament played on Wednesday 3rd February the team of Tom Finn, John McCarthy and Derek Feeney did very well in reaching the last four before giving best to St Vincent's.

Congratulations to the Conna team of David Tobin, Bernadette Feeney, Dick Tobin & Noel England who won the Peg Tucker Trophy at St.Finbarre's Hall on Friday 3rd February. They defeated Ballincollig GAA in the final.
Sunday 26th February will be long remembered as the day two Conna teams contested the final of Douglas GAA Triples Tournament. The team of Noeleen Tanner, Bridie Hamilton and Adrian Tanner (skip) defeated Catherine O'Regan , Dave Feeney and Michael O'Regan (skip) after a tight match. Joint third place went to Douglas Community School and Kinsale.
The club held its 15th AGM on April 9th the following positions were filled as follows- Chair; Adrian Tanner, Vice Chair, Bernadette Feeney Hon. Secretary Sheila O'Leary Treasurer Bill Dinneen, PRO, Tom Finn, Captain Mary Scanlan Vice Captain, Michael O' Regan, delegates Paddy O' Leary, and Noleen Tanner. Selectors Bill Dinneen, Bridie Hamilton, and Catherine O' Regan.
Finally best wishes for a speedy recovery go to club members Theresa Risdon and Tommy Dinneen.
