Indoor Bowls
There are a number of different variants of the game of bowls;
lawn bowls, crown green bowls and short mat indoor bowls. The
latter type is the game that's played in Conna. Short mat bowls
is similar to outdoor lawn bowls except that it is played indoors
and over a shorter distance. The maximum length of the mat is
15 metres which makes it an ideal game to be played in a wide
variety clubs, schools and halls.
It can be played by young and old, men and women without any difficulty.
It is one of the few sports where men and women of all ages compete
on equal terms. There are clearly those who excel and those who
just wish to have a social match. Bowls caters for all types and
standards. Whether you're 8 or 80 you still have a sporting chance!
The facilities
available in Conna have also helped to promote the sport in the
locality as there are two halls available as the occasion demands.
Apart from the club nights, Conna bowlers are actively involved
in the many inter-club league matches, tournaments, friendlies
etc that are organized throughout the Zone all the year round.
So whatever your preference you will be accommodated in Conna!
